Alas that didn't happen.
Instead, I was met with fairly decent weather which made the drive easy and breezy.
I spent most of the way home stopping at beaches I had seen on the way there -- with no soccer game to make sure I got to, it was easy to just take my time stopping wherever my fancy took me. First it took me to Moonstone Beach where I found a tiny moonstone and several shards of jade.
Then I visited the elephant seals up at Piedras Blancas....there were ginormous bulls, juveniles, and little pups all around. I imagine there were females/mothers there too -- but it was hard to tell them from some of the juveniles.....
Then I continued up the coast, stopping for amazing views. Then I found a gorgeous beach and decided to take a gander.
I walked down a while, down some stairs and onto a magnificent beach. There were very few people on the beach and the waves were absolutely amazing. The weather had stirred up the surf something fierce and the waves were crashing loudly on the beach. The color of the crashing waves was a turquoise blue only seen in nature, never artificially replicated.
I decided to take a stroll down the beach, to get a better view and see what other photos I could take. As I rounded a set of rocks, I looked and was surprised to see a completely naked woman in the sand. She reminded me of Ditta Von Teese or a Betty Paige type and the photographs being taken of her really were artistic. She had a great tattoo that ran from her hips to her upper ribcage. I tried not to stare as I quickly stepped around another set of rocks jetting out because it would just be weird to keep staring. Plus I was worried about being in the photo and making it awkward.
So I found a spot to take some great photos. The surf was only coming about three feet in front of me so I figured I was safe. Then no more waves came and I got irritated because I was trying to get some really great wave action shots. So I taunted the ocean....cursed in fact. I outright called it an asshole.
Then it got me back.
Sure I got a great pic....but then a 2 wave crashed into me and got me soaking wet. That'll learn me to taunt the ocean. Fearing another soaking I quickly went back around the rocks and saw the naked lady, again. Only now she was standing in her full neked glory.
At this point I didn't even think about the artistry of her nakedness. I just kept thinking, she was laying in the sand, naked. Dear God, she must have sand EVERYWHERE....no really everywhere.
I took another 20 min to take in the sound, the sights, and the serenity of the beach before getting back on the road and making the final push home.
And I couldn't help but wonder about the sand in the neked lady's lady bits as I changed out of my wet pants and into my skirt....oh, and the beach was pretty memorable too.
